The performance takes place in an installation. We descend into the hypnotic power of a marine microcosm, until the rhetoric softens and justifies the colonisation of this unspoilt area. The industry tells one side of the story. Other worldviews express connectedness, with nature, with water; they show alternative relationships with the planet's so-called “resources”.
Like a tactile portal, the performance combines text, scent, image and sound. A sensory and critical experience that reveals the tensions between oceanic fascination and extractivist violence.
The ending is open, the unthinkable is within reach.
