The project was conceived during the pandemic and builds on practices intended to sustain and nurture resilience. Participants navigate the delicate tensions between vulnerability and agency, harmony and dissonance, and individuality and collectivity while attempting to follow the game’s near-impossible rules.
Performed in the round, IFIF creates a shared field of attention. Audiences witness from intimate proximity, observing the performers’ coordinated struggles while projecting their own interpretations onto the unfolding system. Designed to be taught and restaged almost anywhere, the piece operates as a living structure for collective improvisation and embodied research.
For this iteration, Emily Mast collaborates with DEGASTEN, an Amsterdam-based hyper-diverse youth theater group focused on co-creation and personal development.
