Salomé Mooij

Anatomie van een struikel
'Anatomie van een struikel' (Anatomy of a stumble) is a wordless performance that starts from one of the most classic gestures of the slapstick genre: the stumble.

Together with fellow performer Geert Belpaeme, Salomé Mooij questions what makes failed physical actions so fundamental. Drawing on the rules of slapstick, they explore how staged failure can surprise, move, and touch. A journey of discovery unfolds to a tight, musical cadence. This performance offers a counterweight to a world that often revolves around efficiency and performance, and reminds us of the value of imperfection, failure, vulnerability, resilience, falling, and getting back up.
