Of people and stones
‘Of people and stones’ is a small-scale installation composed of paper collages and printed text. Visual artist An Verstraete uses the fictional character Holly to forge a connection between a specific location and the audience.

As she cuts, pastes, folds and arranges the work, the installation takes shape step by step. In this way, it evolves into a live observational account that unfolds on the spot. The spatial scenes created by Verstraete symbolise our current society and demonstrate just how complex communication can be.

Previously, Holly has stayed in a factory (Holly is CEO), a rehabilitation centre (Holly is recovering) and a museum (Holly is creating a museum).
